The Annotated Hobbit

J.R.R. Tolkien's masterpiece, 1988 Houghton Mifflin. Douglas Anderson annotator with 336 pgs including index. Dark blue boards w/title on spine. Minor edgewear to the dust jacket and flip side has damp stains, (see photos). Bottom and top edges of text block have approx., 1" area of dampstain. Multiple b/w illustrations from foreign editions as well as Tolkien's originals and Eric Fraser's from Folio edition 1979. The first American edition appeared in March 1938, and this BOMC anthology is a superb reference for Hobbit fans.  Very Good condition
