Published in 1963 by Mercure de France thus First edition. Inscribed by Sylvia's niece, Holly Beach Dennis to Richard Ader U.S. tycoon. Cream colored wraps have several spots of discoloration and b/w portrait of Sylvia as on frontis piece. Iconic b/w photos among the174 pages (toned) in French w/English translation. A homage to the woman who bankrolled the publication of James Joyce's Ulysses and founder of Shakespeare & Co., bookshop where expats loved to gather. Contributions by many of those expat writers.
