Mrs. Wiggs of the Cabbage Patch

Alice Hegan Rice wrote "the memorable tale of a family struggling against all odds in the Cabbage Patch, an old Louisville slum".  Beige publisher's binding w/floral scrolls and title in center box. Spine head and tail are  chipped, binding shaken but intact. Color frontispiece and tissue guards on illustrations by *Florence Scovel Shim. Previous owner bookplate on fep dated 1907.
