Exploring Our Secret Past is a trade paperback BOMC edition - identical to the true first edition  and sporting the facsimile inscription from Ira Gershwin.  Boorstin is a Pulitzer Prize winner and this cover has a corner crease and a 2" vertical x-acto cut in the middle.  Among the essays is the suggestion that  much of what is written down may be the personal agenda of authors and politicians who want history to be recorded reflecting their ideals. This book was published in 1987.
